Transport

  • Taxi

The main applications used for getting rides in Israel are Gett and Yango (also known as Yandex Taxi for those used to it from Russia, Serbia and Georgia). Uber while also available is more flaky in our experience. Whichever app you use, allow some time for finding an available car, especially, at peak times.

  • Electric Scooters

Scooters are the best way to get around Tel-Aviv when it comes to short and mid-range distances.

Our favourite applications are Lime and Dott but there are many others including Wind (available also through the Yango app).

Tier and Bird don't recognise driving licenses from Russia upon registration.

  • Public transport

Download the Moovit application for navigation across Israel along with live bus and train times and payments from within the app.

Google Maps works most of the times but occasionally gets the bus and train times wrong and doesn’t let you pay for your tickets.
